The MTS thermopile sensors enable non-contact temperature measurement and gas detection, because of their high sensitivity. The 1-, 2- or 4-channel thermopile sensors detect broadband IR radiation. Thermal diffusion currents of two different metals (Seebeck effect) generate an electrical voltage when exposed to infrared (IR) radiation or heatwhich is transmitted and processed as a measurement signal.
