Our IR emitters ensure reliable and precise measurement results in NDIR gas analysis. For every application, we have the optimum combination of engineering and packaging technologies and MEMS emitter chips, produced in our own fabs.

Micro-Hybrid JSIR emitters are NAC or C-MOSI® MEMS-based infrared sensors with true blackbody radiation properties. From economy IR emitters for mass applications to high-end radiation sources for demanding measurement tasks, our JSIR emitters cover all application areas for measuring and monitoring gas concentrations.

Long-term stability

Our JSIR emitters are characterized by their long control runtime of around 100,000 hours. Compared to conventional IR emitters, they are therefore particularly stable over the long term and guarantee precise and reliable operation.

Reliable

The JSIR emitters function reliably even during long operating times and intensive use. A special design of the emitter chip membrane virtually eliminates the risk of unexpected failures.

Hermetically sealed

The HermeSEAL® technology protects the membrane of the IR emitter from harmful environmental influences. They are the perfect choice for demanding gas measurement applications.

JSIR 340 - C-MOSI® based economy IR emitter

The MEMS chip used in our infrared emitters consists of a multi-layer hotplate membrane containing a high-temperature stable metal C-MOSI® layer. The emitter chip is based on a silicon substrate with an etched membrane on the back. All thin-film processes are carried out using standard MEMS processes and CMOS-compatible materials. The active C-MOSI® resistive layer is protected against the effects of ageing and the environment.

  • Membrane temperatures of up to 770 °C for optimum radiation performance

JSIR 350 - NAC based premium IR emitter

JSIR 350 are MEMS-based infrared emitters, characterized by a particularly high radiation output. By combining standard silicon material technology with NAC coatings, Micro-Hybrid offers a new generation of IR MEMS products with exceptional performance. The class 350 JSIR emitters are particularly suitable for gas analysis applications in areas such as biotechnology, industry and agriculture.

  • Fail-safe over specified service life
  • High modulation depth - frequency range of the emitter can be adjusted for optimum operation with thermopiles or pyroelectric detectors
  • Increased service life due to reduction of oxidation processes
  • Backfilling with different gases to vary the radiation power and time constant
  • Ideal for battery or stand-alone applications with low power supply

HermeSEAL® technology

This unique packaging process was developed by Micro-Hybrid in cooperation with Jenoptik: soldering a metallized filter onto the reflector or cap creates hermetically sealed IR emitters with high efficiency. In this way, HermeSEAL® emitters can also be used in harsh environments where conventional IR components are not suitable. These include high temperatures or high humidity, for example.

  • Backfilling with different gases to vary the radiation power and time constant
  • Robust against environmental influences due to soldered window
