Railway sensors right at the grid - attach, connect and that´s it.
A train covers more than twelve million kilometers, which is about 300 times around the equator, in its lifetime. On this incredibly long journey, it must never get off track. Railway safety sensors and early warning systems help to meet this requirement.
Railways are complex technical masterpieces that have to correspond to various international standards. DIN EN 50155 describes all the requirements for electronic equipment in rolling stock that operates in regular service. In contrast, there are other electronic components which are only intended for test purposes and are not subject to this standard.
Our Inertial sensors are designed for heavy-duty permanent use in rail traffic. They reliably provide raw data for the calculation of parameters in the train control system. The gyro sensor CoriSENS detects the rotation rate on the bogie in order to calculate the radius in curves, for instance. The single-axis acceleration sensor AccTRANS generates values for the transverse acceleration to the direction of travel caused by oscillating movements between the wheelset gauge and the track gauge. The measured data provide information as to whether the acceleration is within an acceptable range. If a critical value is exceeded, the speed of the train can be automatically reduced or limited.
Our railway sensors offer a long-life cycle and can be easily integrated into the existing on-board system - attach, connect and that's it. We offer the AccTRANS and the CoriSENS with a nominal voltage of 24 or 110 volts for assembly straight into the train in accordance with relevant standards. A decentralized, stabilized power supply is not required. The voltage stabilization is already implemented in the sensor. All components are connected directly to the train's on-board power supply. This saves time and money for installation.
Our safety sensors are tested according to DIN EN 50121 to get a perfect signal of the raw data from the bogie. They are both protected against interference from electrical and magnetic fields and do not emit any impermissible interference signals. Safety in operation and maintenance of the sensors is guaranteed by insulation with at least 20 mega-ohm insulation resistance at 500 volts DC.
